Dr. Kazuyuki OshitaKyoto University, Kyoto, Japan

Dr. Kazuyuki Oshita is currently Associate Professor of Kyoto University, Japan. He was graduated from the Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University, Japan in March 1999 and then entered Japan's NGK Insulators Ltd, a private company. He came back to Kyoto university as an assistant professor, in 2002. He got a Ph.D. degree in Engineering in March 2007 and was promoted to an associate professor in the Department of Environmental Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University in October 2011. For the past 25 years, he has been conducting research on the efficient treatment and disposal of waste biomass, especially in sewage sludge and its effective utilization, including material and energy use. His research covers the processes of thickening, digestion, conditioning, dewatering, combustion and pyrolysis in sewage sludge treatment. He is a board member of the International Water Association (IWA) sludge management specialist group from 2019. Recently, he has been studying a biological biogas upgrading process with hydrogen addition based on the concept of "Power to Gas" and investigating the greenhouse gas emissions from sewage sludge treatment. Since 2015, he has been conducting nationwide surveys on the composition of sludge in Japan
